Though the social uncertainties that the global pandemic ushered into our lives since the past year is still being felt world over, the world is learning to live with it , especially since the discovery of vaccines and the compliance of social distancing and face mask precautions that is very effective in stemming the tide of the highly contagious covid-19.
Rasheedah Fagbayi the C.E.O of Pan Africa Trade Fair Nigeria, the organizers of the Organic Agribusiness Exhibition and Conference being held on the theme: Organic Agriculture and Organic Agribusiness: Reviving the Lost Jewel, has announced new dates for the highly prestigious conference that is being held in collaboration with Nigeria’s Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (FMARD).
The event previously slated for May this year was put on hold after the federal government of Nigeria announced a restriction on number of people to be allowed to participate in social events, a situation that has seemingly changed with the nations acquisition of 4million more doses of covid-19 vaccine from USA In August.
In the fight against Covid, the Nigerian Govt released 10bn Naira for research and manufacturing of covid-vaccines locally in the nation, and on 30th of September received approval from The World Bank Board of Directors for a $400 million credit in additional financing from the International Development Association (IDA) to provide upfront financing for safe and effective COVID-19 vaccine acquisition and deployment within the country.
The Honorable Minister of Agriculture and Rural development remains the patron of the event and will be officiating the opening ceremony with the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Agriculture and Special Technical Adviser to the Agric Minister Dr. Andrew Kwasari as Special Guest of Honour , the honourable commissioner for Agriculture Lagos State Ms Abisola Olusanya as the Keynote Speaker.
Other Speakers includes the founder CEO of BIO Deposit Organic Fertilizers; Dr. Vladimir Demenijev, National President of All Farmers Association of Nigeria; Architect Kabir Ibrahim ,the Chairmen and Members of All Farmers Association of Nigeria(AFAN) Young Farmers Association of Nigeria(YFAN) and other eminent speakers.
The conference is aimed at promoting and reviving the interest of Nigerians and Africans at large in Agri- business and will feature exhibition from the local and global players in the Agro sector, for showcasing of the modern and innovative inventions, ideas, services in order to enhance the Agro sector as well as networking , marketing and sales of Agro goods via its onsite and virtual platforms.
The exhibition is open to all farmers, companies and organisations engaged in agribusiness, globally, exhibitors can exhibit or display Organic products or services related to the event theme.
